The Center for Youth Ministries hosted Youth Emphasis Week, March 28 – 30, 2012. Annually, this week is a time to focus University attention on the importance of youth ministries. The theme for 2012 was “Ascend: Psalm 24:1-6.” During the week, Alumni returned to campus to pour into students through a series of sessions held throughout the day from Wednesday through Friday. Speakers included Dr. Troy Temple, Pastor Kyle Scarlett, Mrs. Meredith Floyd, Pastor Nick Floyd, Pastor Josh Eatmon, Pastor Scott Price and Pastor Scott Windham. They shared lessons learned from their professional experiences in Youth Ministries, Children Ministries, Women’s Ministries, & Pastoral Leadership.
The finale for Youth Emphasis Week was Ministry Chapel held on Friday, March 30 in Towns Alumni Lecture Hall, hosted by the Center for Youth Ministries. The morning consisted of praise and worship music from YouthQuest, a traveling student ministry team from the CYM. Each year, the CYM and the Center for Women’s Ministries gives the Founder’s Awards to exemplary male and female students at this event. The Department of Church Ministries is also privileged to select and honor Alumni of the Year. This year, awards were presented in the areas of Youth Ministry, Children/Family Ministries, & Women’s Ministries.
