Purpose Statement

The Center for Youth Ministry exists to recruit strategically, equip practically, and challenge biblically those called to youth work, both in the local church and youth organizations.

Core Values

The CYM training program is characterized by the following values…

Vision – youth ministry is not just a curriculum or class; rather it is the front line of the God-ordained task to be fishers of men

Passionate Teaching – youth ministry education must be characterized by enthusiasm for the cause and a burden for adolescents

Practical Preparation - youth ministry students will graduate with a wealth of knowledge and resources that will enable them to be effective in youth ministry

Mentoring – youth ministry training is a life to life transference from teacher to student

Training Dynamic

Youth Ministry students have the opportunity to participate in three types of life interaction: 

One-on-One interaction with faculty mentors and pastoral mentors

Small group interaction with other students, including Connect, an event where students have the opportunity to learn about the CYM and interact with the professors

Ministry Internship interaction with seasoned ministries, experienced youth leaders, and teenagers
