Supervised Field Ministry Experience is a part of the Center for Ministry Training. The purpose of Supervised Field Ministry Experience (SFME) is to assist the student in the application of classroom knowledge into real-world experience. All full-time, residential Seminary students (nine credits or more, residentially) will be required to successfully complete 40 hours of SFME during each semester of Seminary enrollment.
SFME is non-credit course and is graded on a pass/fail scale. Each semester all applicable students are registered for SFME (Section 001 for English; Section 002 for Korean). SFME does not meet as a traditional class and all assignments are completed through Blackboard.
The main requirement for completing SFME is completing a minimum of 40 hours of field ministry during each semester. If a student fails to complete the SFME requirement, the student will not be able to graduate.
If you have not already secured your SFME assignment or need some ideas, you can visit the SFME office, located in Carter 231 (Old TRBC).
