Dr. Roger Schultz

Dr. Schultz is the Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences. Before coming to Liberty University in 2002, he taught at Virginia Intermont College, the University of Arkansas and Oak Hills Christian College. He is a member of the Phi Beta Kappa Society.

He is particularly interested in world-view education and how Christian commitments and Biblical presuppositions influence approaches to academic disciplines. His articles on these topics have been translated into Spanish and Hungarian.

Schultz is a specialist in American religious history and he frequently preaches in local churches and speaks at conferences. Recent conference topics include America’s Christian Heritage; the Legacy of the Reformation; the Biblical Philosophy of History; and Christian Education.   His essays and articles have appeared in many publications.

The Schultzes have nine children (six are Liberty University alumni, and one is a current Liberty student) and five grandchildren. A native Minnesotan, Schultz enjoys hunting and fishing. Given the chance, he will spin bear and moose stories of the north woods and tell of his adventures as a canoe guide in the Boundary Waters Wilderness Area.
