Post-Master of Science in Nursing

The Post-Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) to DNP pathway is designed for nurse leaders, nurse practitioners, and clinical nurse specialists who are seeking a Doctorate of Nursing Practice degree. Courses in this pathway are offered in an online cohort model with some required residency and practicum. Practicum hours may be available in your area if approved through your state approval process.

Post-Bachelor of Science in Nursing

The Post-Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) to DNP pathway incorporates additional clinical training so that students who complete the program are eligible to take a national certification examination as a family nurse practitioner. The Post-BSN to DNP is offered in a residential format with online courses and practicum. This program is available only in residence at our campus in Lynchburg, Virginia.

State Approval Disclosure

Currently, the DNP program is not approved for students to participate in practicum requirements in the states of Maryland and Washington. As a result, applicants should seek programs of study approved by their state. Applicants residing in Maryland are currently unable to complete practicum requirements in the state of Maryland. It is possible for Maryland students to complete their practicum in neighboring states, such as Virginia or Delaware. Please contact the School of Nursing for more information.
