The purpose of the Bachelor of Science in Physical Education & Health program is to promote the development of a healthy, physically-active, Christ-centered lifestyle. The program prepares its graduates to become competent, problem-solving, and innovative professionals able to design, deliver, and assess health and physical education instruction for grades preK-12.
The program offers two options for students: Virginia licensure and non-licensure tracks. Approved by the Virginia Department of Education, the licensure track requires students to complete one semester of student teaching that includes full-time classroom teaching in both elementary and secondary health and physical education settings.
Upon graduation, licensure students receive a Virginia teaching license. Most state education departments grant licensure reciprocity to our graduates.
