Mrs. Amy Hassenpflug


Department Chair & Assistant Professor of General Studies


Mrs. Hassenpflug is a nearly life-long Virginian, having grown up in a small town in the mountains of Southwest Virginia.  She earned an B.A. in Education and Psychology from the College of William and Mary in Willamsburg, VA, and an M. Ed. in Reading Education from the University of Virginia.

She has taught a wide variety of classes in both the College of General Studies and the School of Education. 

She is married to Leon, nominally an engineering nerd.  Her two children are Rachel, LU grad and current medical resident, and Maddy, an LU residential student. She has a couple of cats and two small dogs: Lance, a greyhound, and Bella, a Great Dane.
