Bio: Served 30 years in the private sector business world, with 15 years in the information technology industry as an executive responsible for providing multi-million dollar solutions and professional staffing services to private and public sector operations throughout the United States.  He is the registered director on the board of a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation; business owner, former Private School Board of Directors member, a deacon and an adult couples Sunday School teacher.

Bio: Dan has an eclectic background in education. He taught in Virginia public schools and internationally before joining the Career Center as the Internship Coordinator for the Washington Fellowship in 2011. After three years in that position, he assumed the role of Assistant Director in July of 2014. However, his greatest responsibility and joy in life is coming home every day to his wife Karen and two little girls.

Bio: Heather moved to Lynchburg, VA in January 2012. June of 2013, God graciously opened up an opportunity for her at Liberty University as the Office Administrator in the Career Center. Within 2 months, she transitioned into her current role as the Events and Recruitment Coordinator. She also manages the Career Center website. Heather is a planner and coordinator at heart, so this is something that she truly finds joy in, and is so grateful for the opportunity. Heather married her best friend in 2008 and has three beautiful children. She is truly blessed to be in such a breathtaking city and is excited to see what the Lord has planned for her and her family!

Bio: With a previous focus on teaching and volunteer leadership, Tracey had the opportunity to begin as the Career Center’s Office Manager in 2008 and then as a Career Counselor the following year.  She is able to use her counseling education and teaching experience to meet with students individually as well as present to residential classes on professional development skills and tailor resume workshops to service graduate students.

Bio: Tyler has been involved with college students in the Lynchburg area since 2010 when he served on staff at a local church as an Associate Pastor. Since then he has transitioned to the Career Counseling team where he continues to use his passion for helping college students determine their full potential in the Lord and helping them to think past graduation. Tyler and his family enjoy spending their free time outside, in community, and enjoying a good cup of coffee together.

Bio: As a Nationally Certified Counselor, Jenna brings diverse clinical, academic, and multi-cultural counseling experience to her role as Career Counselor. Jenna has worked with clients from a variety of socio-economic backgrounds as an Intensive Day Treatment Therapist; and cultural backgrounds as a TeachBeyond missionary and High School Guidance Counselor at Black Forest Academy. It was during her time at BFA that Jenna realized a growing passion for teaching and service to students through higher education. She regards her dual positions as LUO Adjunct Professor and Career Counselor to be gifts from the Lord; and seeks to glorify Him through her work as she encourages and equips individuals to realize their calling and career.                         

Sarah Gooss

Bio: Sarah moved to Lynchburg, VA in February 2014 and began in the mental health field. Sarah has worked with clients of various socio-economic and ethnic backgrounds. She most recently worked as a mental health clinician providing one-on-one intensive crisis intervention services to children and families. Previously, Sarah has provided support services to survivors of domestic violence, interned at a male correctional center, and provided trauma counseling and psychoeducation to mental health professionals, pastors, and lay people in Kenya. Having worked alongside of many case managers, therapists, doctors, and families in crisis, Sarah has gained the skills of networking professionally, bridging the gaps between people and their needs and advocating for clients and students.

Sarah is ever the optimist and believes in not letting life pass you by. Most goals can be achieved if the work and time are put into attaining these goals. This passion is something that is easily conveyed in her role as a career counselor for the Career Center at Liberty University.

Bio: Hanna is originally from Charlotte, North Carolina but now makes her home in Lynchburg, Virginia. She is a two time graduate from Liberty and has been both a team member and a director of Liberty’s Ministry Teams.  After working and traveling with music groups for several years, she transitioned into the role of career counselor, assisting Liberty traveling students as they make decisions and take steps towards their future goals. Hanna is passionate about worshipping God, not only through music, but throughout everyday circumstances.

Bio: Mark is a graduate of Liberty University’s School of Business and is near completing his graduate degree in Criminal Justice with a focus in Public Administration. Before transitioning to the Washington Fellowship, Mark served as Employer Relations Coordinator for the School of Divinity and Communication & Creative Arts. Mark enjoys writing and playing keyboard alongside other local artists and musicians in Lynchburg. Mark is passionate about seeing people succeed both personally and professionally and enjoys interacting and networking with students, faculty, staff, and employers. He is a native of Saint Louis, Missouri and is a dedicated Cardinals fan. He currently resides in Forest, Virginia with his wife, Carmolee.

Bio: Giuseppe has ten years of business management experience working in his family’s successful business. Before transferring to his current role, he worked for nearly two years at Liberty University as an Admission Specialist in their online division. Additionally, Giuseppe serves as the local chairman for the Lynchburg Area Young Republicans, where He oversees campaign initiatives, manages an executive board, and directs strategic planning for the group. Included in his community outreach, Giuseppe sits as a board member for the Lynchburg Business Development Centre. Giuseppe currently resides in Lynchburg with his wife, Sarah

Shannon Gaudio

Degrees:  B.A. – Spanish and International Marketing – Clemson University 1994 

Bio: Shannon returned to Lynchburg, VA in August 2012 after 4 years in Tampa and 11 years at Smith Mountain Lake. She worked in software sales for IBM before helping found and operate several family businesses, including a lifestyle and entertainment magazine, ad agency, and a watersports retail shop. She is excited to be a part of the Career Center mission at Liberty University and is looking forward to pursuing her Master’s Degree in Sports Marketing in the fall of 2015. Shannon is possibly the world’s biggest college football fan and is blessed to be the mother of a wonderful son and daughter.

Kathleen Welch

Degrees:  M.B.A., Penn State University; B.S. – Accounting, Penn State University; B.S. – Business Administration, Meredith College    

Bio:  Kathleen has served over 20 years in the private sector business world with a career that has spanned multiple industries (accounting, consulting, airline, energy and online retail) and across all disciplines. She is an owner of small business that has global customer base.  In her prior roles she was also a hiring manager, a member of key recruiting teams at major universities, and a liaison between career centers and employers. So she understands the needs and constraints of employers and students.

Kathleen finds great joy in connecting employers with students as these relationships can truly change a person’s life and positively impact his/her future. She has served on numerous boards for organizations, higher education and ministry-related charities.
