Welcome to Summer Engineering Camp!

Theme: Energy and Curiosity

Middle-school students will engage in fun activities involving engineering, math, and science, including:

  • Curiosity as the Basis for Scientific Investigation

  • Aspects of Technical Drawing

  • Aspects of 3-D Solid Modeling

  • Additive Manufacturing

  • Pre-engineering Physics (mainly mechanics)

  • Basic Programming

  • Aspects of Electric Circuits

  • Aspects of Magnets and Electromagnets

Campers will be involved in hands-on projects like:

  • Using the computer program SolidWorks to model 3-D objects

  • Using 3-D printers to manufacture 3-D objects

  • Using a laser machine to cut and engrave materials

  • Using pre-engineering physics lab kits to learn about forces, stress, strain, friction, etc.

  • Using bread-board and basic electric elements to assemble and learn about electric circuits.

  • Using MatLab to write simple computer codes
