Local Field Experiences
1. Am I responsible for setting up my own placements?
No, you may NOT contact the local schools!
Typically your professor for your practicum courses (eg. EDUC 226, 236, 317, 411, 436, etc.) will set up your placements. Professors will contact the Field Team if additional help is needed in securing a field placement.
2. What if I have questions about my placement?
Ask your professor first. If your professor cannot answer your question, contact email@example.com
3. Do I need a background check to begin my placement?
Yes. Liberty University School of Education requires a background check before you may begin your first field experience. The background check and fingerprinting can be accessed at www.libertyEDbackground.com. It is the candidate's responsibility to pay for the fees associated with the background check and fingerprinting.
Some school systems require additional background checks. It is the candidate's responsibility to pay for any additional fees required by the assigned school system.
4. Am I responsible for transportation to my placement?
Yes, you are responsible for transportation to your placement.
5. What places are considered local placements?
Local placements include schools found in Lynchburg City, Bedford County, Campbell County, Amherst County, Appomattox County, Pittsylvania County, Danville City, Roanoke City, Roanoke County, Salem City, and Nelson County.
