During the student’s Provisional semester, application for full acceptance to the program can be initiated. Grades will be reviewed following the end of the semester, with final acceptance based on previous grades and successful completion of the following additional courses: ATTR 220, BIOL 211, and HLTH 216. Additionally, students must be an active member of the ATSA (LU Athletic Training Student Association) during the Provisional semester.
In the event that the number of eligible applicants exceeds the number of spaces available in the program, the following selection criteria will be utilized:
Final Grade in BIOL 211
Final Grade in ATTR 220
Final Grade in ATTR 305
Final Grade in HLTH 216
Overall GPA (as follows)
Rotation Evaluation Score (0-6)
ATSA Active Member (3)
TOTAL (36)
Decision-making Criteria:
At this point, the student may be admitted to the program. Following notification of for admission status, students must provide proof of NATA student membership and current 1st Aid and CPR certification prior to beginning formal clinical rotations.
Additionally, admitted students must demonstrate and maintain satisfactory academic and clinical progress as defined in the Program Retention Standards.
