School Counseling - Licensure

Requirements

• No teaching license required
• Two years of teaching or counseling experience required
  • may be acquired during the M.Ed. program
  • may be acquired while employed as assistant counselor with provisional license
• Required Intensives: COUN 505; EDUC 512, 622 and 661  Optional Intensive: EDUC 645 (will result in five residence intensives for the program)
• Field experiences and internship EDUC 699-A02
• Licensure test by Gate 3 [score PRIOR to internship]
  • Praxis II: no test required for 2012
