School administration: EDUC 641*, 648, 672, 699-A01; master’s course accepted for EDUC 672; Including intensives on DCP: EDUC 741* and EDUC 747*

• Ed.S. Curriculum & Instruction (Licensure options below)
  Must complete DCP for EdS, including intensive: EDUC 741*, with additional courses below
  Note:  For Ed.S. in Leadership, must add EDUC 721 and 771 (included for Ed.S. in C&I)

Initial Licensure additional courses required:
Elementary: EDUC 530, 531, 554, 556, 623¹, 632¹, student teaching, content competencies, VCLA,VRE,Praxis II
Special education: EDUC 524, 525, 530, 554, 622¹, 623¹, student teaching, and Praxis II, VCLA, RVE
Secondary: EDUC 535, 556, 623¹, 673¹, 695, student teaching, content competencies, and VCLA, Praxis II

Add-on Licensure additional courses required and ^FES (Field Experience Summary - 45 hours):
Early childhood (for 3- and 4-year-olds): EDUC 501, 653, 670, must have elementary license
Gifted: EDUC 621, 627, 650, 652, must have initial license

Advanced Licensure additional courses required:
School counseling: EDUC 622¹, 660, 661¹, 699-A02 and 21 hours of COUN courses equivalent to M.Ed. courses
Reading or Math specialist: EDUC 622¹, 641¹, 650, 652, 699-A03, must have initial license

Requirements:

• NO required intensives UNLESS seeking licensure or planning to pursue Ed.D.
• Intensives required for licensure or Ed.D.

   - EDUC 747 (for Educational Leadership concentration)
• EDUC 718 - capstone course to be taken in final semester
• Note: EDUC 718 may not be used as an elective in the EdD.  EDUC 718 was written to be a capstone course for those who are completing their EdS, which is required by our accrediting bodies.  However, the content is not relevant to the EdD.
