Industrial and Systems Engineering (B.S.)

Industrial and Systems Engineering encompasses production design, plant layout, routing and production mix. Our programs also include course work in more of the recently developed areas of IE enterprise: operations research, human factors, production systems and engineering management, business analytics and business intelligence. These data analysis courses are focused on helping management connect the critical results of enterprise (namely revenue, low cost and resource efficiency) to the controllable drivers of enterprise results.

Specific outcomes and learning objectives of this major will allow the student to demonstrate: the application of management skills; a global view of organization necessary to design, develop, implement and optimize systems involving people, materials, information, equipment and energy; appropriate use of analytical, computational and experimental practices; a knowledge of differential and integral calculus, basic science, computer science and engineering science relating to complex integrated systems.

At Liberty University School of Engineering and Computational Sciences, the Industrial and Systems Engineering program provides an overview of the foundational principles of systems engineered to serve people.  Our primary goal is to develop Christ-centered men and women with the values, knowledge and skills essential to positively influence industrial and systems engineering related industries.
