Spring 2013 Audition and Production Interview Information


Audition and Interview Dates and Times

All auditions/interviews will be held on Saturday, January 12.

  • All majors who have not passed the sophomore hearing and all non-majors will audition at 10am.
  • All male performance concentration/theatre arts education majors who have passed the sophomore hearing will audition at 2pm.
  • All female performance concentration/theatre arts education majors who have passed the sophomore hearing will audition at 3pm.
  • All production concentration/theatre arts education majors who have passed the sophomore hearing will interview at 10am.
  • All majors who have not passed the sophomore hearing and all non-majors will interview at 2pm.
  • Any performance concentration major may also interview for production and any production concentration major may also audition.  Theatre Arts Education majors may choose to do either or both.
  • Dancers only (especially ballet) are needed for CAROUSEL.  If you are a DANCER ONLY, you should attend a dance audition on Saturday, January 12 at 6:00 pm in the Tower Theater.  You do not need to sing.

Callback Dates and Times

Callbacks will be held on Saturday evening, January 12, and possibly Sunday, January 13. Times TBD.
 

Preparation

Interview Preparation

All production concentration/theatre arts education majors who have passed the sophomore hearing are required to bring a production resume and portfolio to the interview.

All majors who have not passed the sophomore hearing, and all non-majors are not required to bring anything to the interview.  (However, if you want to be considered for Alluvion, you MUST bring a resume.)

Audition Preparation

All performance concentration/theatre arts education majors who have passed the sophomore hearing are required to bring a headshot and resume to the  auditions.  Please prepare a total of 3 items: 16 measures of a contemporary Broadway song, 16 measures of a classic Broadway song, and a 30 second contemporary dramatic monologue.

Those majors who have not passed sophomore hearing and all non-majors may audition for the academic shows only, with the potential of being invited to the Alluvion callbacks.  Please prepare a total of 2 items: a 30 second contemporary dramatic monologue and 1 of the song excerpts listed below.  Please have a headshot/resume ready if you are invited to the Alluvion callbacks.

CHILDREN'S AUDITIONS:

Auditions will be held at 4:30 pm, Thursday, January 10, for children ages 7-15 for CAROUSEL (ensemble) and ages 10-15 for TARZAN (Young Tarzan, Young Terk, Young Apes).  All children should prepare 16 measures of a Broadway Disney song and should be prepared to dance.  Children auditioning for TARZAN must also bring a resume and headshot to the auditions.
