*All Sophomore Theatre majors are required to complete a Production Interview. Junior and Senior Theatre majors are highly encouraged to complete a Production Interview.


Auditions

All auditions will be held in the Tower Theater

Returning Students - Friday, Aug. 26

Women: 6:30-8 p.m.
Men: 8- 9 p.m.
*Possible Callbacks: 9-11 p.m.

New Students - Saturday, Aug. 27

Men: 10-11 a.m.
Women: 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

Audition Requirements

  • 30 second light, comedic or romantic monologue from a contemporary play or movie
  • Prepare one of the Audition Songs listed below

Production Interviews

All production Interviews will be held in the Conference Room of the Theatre Arts office.

Returning Students - Friday, Aug. 26

Men: 6:30- 7:45 p.m.
Women: 8-9 p.m.

New Students - Saturday, Aug. 27

Men: 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
Women: 2-3:30 p.m.
*8:30-9:30 p.m - Final interview opportunity for anyone that has not interviewed at an earlier time.

  • All Theatre Arts: Production/Education/Administration/Dramaturgy majors who have passed the sophomore hearing are required to bring a production resume and portfolio to the interview.
  • All other returning students and new students are not required to bring anything to the interview.

Callbacks

Please read all details below.

  • Callback lists will be posted outside of the Tower Theater and the Theatre Arts office no later than 2 p.m on Saturday, Aug. 27.
  • There will be callbacks Saturday afternoon and evening.
  • The department recommends bringing clothes and shoes needed for dance callbacks and leaving them in the Tower Theater until they are needed.
  • Lists will give more information on locations and times.
  • Please make sure you check ALL lists, as there are often multiple lists per show.

Saturday, Aug. 27

  • 2:00 - 3:30 p.m. - Vocal Callbacks (All): Guys & Dolls
  • 3:30 - 5:00 p.m. - Dance Callbacks (Men): Guys & Dolls
  • 3:30 - 5:00 p.m. - Vocal/Reading Callbacks (Women): Quilters
  • 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. - Dance Callbacks (Women): Guys & Dolls, Quilters
  • 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. - Reading Callbacks (All, unless dancing): Over the River & Through the Woods
  • 7:30 - 9:30 p.m. - Reading Callbacks (All): Guys & Dolls, Over the River & Through the Woods

Casting Information

General Audition & Production Interview Information

Audition Information

  • Fall auditions are always held on the two nights before classes start in August.
  • All fall academic shows are auditioned at the same time.
  • Spring auditions are usually held in January.
  • All spring academic shows are auditioned at the same time.
  • Monologues/Songs may not contain profane language or any type of sexual innuendo.
  • An accompanist is provided for musical auditions.
  • Callbacks, if necessary, are usually posted the night of auditions.
  • Cast lists are usually posted by the end of the audition week.
  • If cast, you must initial beside your name on the cast sheet to indicate an acceptance of a role.
  • Students who are cast must enroll in THEA 200, 300, or 400.
  • Students with a GPA less than 2.0 will be considered only by Director's discretion.

Production Interview Information

  • Spring interviews are usually held in January.
  • All spring production jobs are interviewed at the same time.
  • Crew jobs are usually posted by the end of the audition week.
  • If selected, you must initial beside your name on the crew sheet to indicate an acceptance of a crew position.
  • Students who are selected must enroll in THEA 200, 300, or 400.
  • Students with a GPA less than 2.0 will be considered only by Director's discretion.
