When are Liberty's next Institutes?

Policy Debate Labs:

  2. The Policy Lab (A): June 22-June 28

  4. The Virginia Scholars Lab: June 22-July 5

Lincoln-Douglas Debate Labs:

How much will all of this cost?

The total fee for all One Week Workshops is $450 for on-campus students OR $150 for commuter students who do not wish to stay in the camp-provided housing.    A $100 non-refundable deposit must accompany the application by June 4. The balance of the cost is due no later than registration on June 22.  

The total fee for the Virginia Scholars Policy Lab and the two-week Lincoln-Douglas Lab is $875 for on-campus students OR $300 for commuter students who do not wish to stay in the camp-provided housing. A $100 non-refundable deposit must accompany the application by June 4. The balance of the cost is due upon check-in.

When is the deadline for applications?

Applications with deposit must be received by June 4, 2014. Make checks payable to Liberty University Debate.

Students are admitted on a first-apply basis. Early application is suggested as space is limited to guarantee quality instruction for each student.

Does my tuition cost cover room and board?

Yes, the Liberty Debate Institute contains no hidden costs.

Students at the Liberty Debate Institute will live in double-occupancy, air-conditioned rooms in a Liberty University residence hall. The halls are located near laundry facilities, basketball and tennis courts and are a short walk from the academic buildings. Students must provide their own linens. Students in the halls are supervised by a full-time residence hall staff, including Resident Assistants that live on each floor.

All meals are provided by the Liberty University cafeteria and SODEXO Food Service. Students will receive three meals a day served buffet style.

Will I have free time?

Yes. The Liberty Institute will offer a variety of free opportunities for our students to relax and enjoy their non-debate time including movies, batting cages, putt-putt, go-carts, basketball, picnics and other events.

Where is Liberty located?

Liberty University is located in Lynchburg, Virginia and is easily accessible by plane, train, or bus. Students can obtain detailed directions by calling (434) 582-2080.
