  • Research specialties include listening, communication in ministry, preaching, criticism of preachers, revivals and Christian movements, and conflict resolutions

Dr. Kramer's fields of interest include the public speaking arts, interpersonal communication, communication and ministry, criticism and leadership. He instructs in the following areas: public speaking, motivational speaking, debate and argumentation, persuasion, communication in Christian ministry, conflict resolution, small group decision making and interpersonal communication.

Currently Dr. Kramer directs the M.A. in Communication program and has an active research agenda. 

Dr. Kramer’s credits include establishing the Liberty University debate team, curriculum development in communication at both the graduate and undergraduate levels, member and Chair of the Faculty Senate, Associate and Interim Dean of the School of Communication.  He has worked on numerous committees and on special program during his tenure at Liberty University. In addition, Dr. Kramer served as a senior pastor for 10 years and currently serves as a lay pastor and teacher of a large adult Sunday School class in the community. He actively leads small group Bible studies on campus and mentors students in their journey of faith. 


Cecil and Cindy Kramer make their home in Lynchburg, Va. They both hail from North Dakota and came to Liberty University to teach and study in the early days of the institution. They are parents to three children and grandparents of 10 grandchildren. They enjoy traveling, attending concerts and dramatic productions, reading and spoiling their grandchildren.
