God has blessed me with wonderful Christian parents who told me about what Christ had done for me as well as took me to a church that preached the gospel message. Growing up, I faintly remember a time where I had asked Christ to be a Savior, but as I look back, I believe that I just picked a memory of my childhood and claimed that to be when I received Christ. Then, when I was twelve, having just finished my 6th grade year, I went to Grace Bible Camp. Miss Faye was speaking on how we need to give Jesus the key to our life, and surrender fully to Him. God touched my heart through her message and I truly realized and understood what Christ had done for me and what my correct response was to be. The Scripture verse that I base my salvation on is Acts 16:31b, which says, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved…” (NASB) This is when I believe that Christ came into my heart and became my Savior and Lord. Since then, I have continued to grow in Him and it has been amazing. Being at Heritage Baptist Church has helped me tremendously in my walk with Christ. Through my parents, my Christian friends, other older Christian who have influenced my life, and the Holy Spirit’s prodding, I have come to know Christ not only as my Savior and Lord, but as my friend. He continues to teach me daily to humble myself, let go of my pride, and let Him fill me. My goals for my Christian life are to grow closer to Him everyday, to die to myself, and to show others the love of Christ and what He has done for me.
