Department of Theatre Arts

The Department of Theatre Arts provides instruction in the theory and practice of theatre performance and production in order to prepare students for professional stage careers, for graduate study in Theatre Arts, and for a life of growing appreciation for the theatre and dramatic arts.

Students may take classes toward a Theatre Arts major with specific concentrations in production, performance or education. A minor is offered for those who do not plan on pursuing theatre as a career, and all non-majors and minors are encouraged to audition for productions each year.

The department puts on a number of productions at the Tower Theater each year, including dramas, comedies and musicals, in addition to student-produced work. Liberty University students also compete at national festivals for theatre arts with its renowned faculty.
