Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society

Founded in the spring of 1934 at the University of Illinois, Alpha Lambda Delta is a national honor society that recognizes academic excellence among first year students. Today, Alpha Lambda has over 235 chapters throughout the nation and offers almost $100,000 in scholarships to its members.

Alpha Lambda Delta emphasizes that educated persons have a responsibility to "have tolerance in dealings with all persons, generosity in giving to those in need, and insight into the feelings of others." Members are challenged to make a "meaningful contribution to society" and, through their chapters, engage in community service projects as well as campus service activities.

Our Liberty University Chapter's official chartering service was held on August 26, 1986, with four (4) charter members, and 139 student initiates. Since then, we have initiated more than 1,500 members.

We welcome you as a new initiate to the Liberty University Chapter of the National Alpha Lambda Delta Scholastic Honor Society.

ALD...".to encourage superior academic achievement among students in their first year in institutions of higher education, to promote intelligent living and a continued high standard of learning, and to assist men and women in recognizing and developing meaningful goals for their roles in society."
