Staying on Track

Freshman Year:

• Take optional Math and English Placement Tests (found on Blackboard). Use the Math and English Placement Guide to determine which Math and English courses you will start with.
• Meet with your Professional Advisor and register for classes (required first and second semesters).
• Consider taking FOCUS 2 to help choose a major, internship, and future career.
• If you have not done so already, Declare your Major, Minor, and Specialization.
• Have a good understanding of the Degree Completion Plan for your major.
• Become familiar with resources that will be available to you to improve your study skills. Visit the Bruckner Learning Center or the new Assistive Learning Technology Center in the Office of Disability Academic Support (ODAS). Utilize peer tutoring in Tutoring Services.

Sophomore Year:

• Meet with your Professional Advisor and register for classes (required first and second semester -- depending on your online Sophomore Assessment).

Junior Year:

• If you're planning on completing an internship, attend an Internship Meeting. Pay close attention to dates and deadlines and plan an internship for the Fall, Spring, or Summer of your junior or senior year.
• Attend a Resume and Cover Letter Workshop.
• Meet with your Academic Department as needed about your Graduation Checklist.

Senior Year:

• Sign up for a Mock Interview to hone your interviewing skills.
• Submit your Graduation Application. 
• Check the Registrar’s Office website for information on Graduation and Commencement.
• Utilize the “LUnetWork” (LU’s online job search listing).
• Meet with your Academic Department as needed about your Graduation Checklist.
