CLEP (College Level Exam Program)

CLEP

General Information

CLEP exams are offered at various times on Monday-Friday throughout the school year and summer. CLEP tests are not administered during finals week for both fall and spring semesters.

Fees

Each CLEP test is $135 total, broken down in the following way:

  • Non-refundable $50 registration fee, payable to Liberty University by credit card is due when your form is turned in to reserve a computer.
  • As of July 1, 2017, a fee of $85 is charged before students come to the Testing Center when they pay for their exam on the College Board website.

Registration Procedures

There are three easy steps to taking CLEP exams:

Step 1: When you are ready to take your CLEP exam, go to clep.collegeboard.com and pay for the exam by creating a My Account. The CLEP fee is $85. After you pay, you will need to print your Registration Ticket and bring it with you on the day of your exam.

Step 2: Pay the Administrative Fee for the exam using the Testing Services Payment Portal. This portal will also allow you to schedule the date of your exam.

Step 3: On your test day, if you are driving onto campus without a parking decal, go to the Hancock Welcome Center to obtain a visitor’s pass. Afterward, come to the Testing Center with a form of ID (ID must have a photo and a signature – A driver’s license works great).

Please also review the following Check-In Policies before you come to take your exam.
That’s it! After following these three steps, you can take your exam.

Changes, Cancelations, and Retaking Exams

  • You may change the test you take, as long as it is at your appointed time. If you cannot keep your appointment, you must cancel and re-register by contacting Testing Services at testingservices@liberty.edu.
  • You must wait at least 3 months to retake a CLEP exam. This is a CLEP requirement.
