Ethnomusicology is the study of music and worship in the context of culture. This degree prepares musicians to serve as missionaries focused on establishing worship programs specific to the culture and people of a particular nation.
Ethnomusicology is one of the fastest growing fields in world missions, with over 100 agencies seeking musicians to participate in their efforts. In addition to inter-cultural ministry, there are many opportunities for music educators, worship leaders and musicians in diverse international settings to use their skills as ethnomusicologists.
