Welcome! My name is Chris Nelson, Summer Arts Coordinator for the Liberty University Summer Arts Camps and Assistant Professor in the Department of Theatre Arts. It is my pleasure to announce a wonderful lineup of summer camps which will allow many local elementary, middle and high school students a chance to participate. Our mission this summer is to provide a safe place for students to train, experience and excel in their art.
Housed within the Department of Theatre Arts, our camps are designed to provide training in the form of small classes. Depending on the age of the student, classes will focus on subjects such as Acting, Dance, Voice, Stage Combat and Improvisation. Our instructors are passionate and educated college students, both current and recent graduates, who are pursuing a career in the dramatic arts. The camp staff and student instructors are dedicated to providing one-on-one attention to each student.
In addition to the classes, every student attending our camps will have the experience of performance. Through the rehearsal process students will learn vital lessons in team building, responsibility and self-confidence. These performances will stretch the students mentally, physically and artistically.
Our goal is to see young people excel in the dramatic arts. Our staff is committed to providing each student a healthy and challenging learning environment so that excellence is achieved. Students will make lifetime friends and gain in confidence as they work together. It’s a fabulous time of year, one that I have always enjoyed as a Summer Arts Coordinator – witnessing young people grow in maturity and artistry.
Join us this summer and come ready to train, experience and excel in your art! Reserve your spot today and take advantage of our Early Enrollment Registration.
