Dr. Magnuson joined Liberty University in 2009 as an Assistant Professor. After completing a B.A. in New Testament biblical literature and Master of Divinity (M.Div.) at Oral Roberts University, he earned an M.S. and Ph.D. in Educational Psychology (Human Development) from the University of Wisconsin at Madison. His research focuses on the psychology of interpersonal forgiveness, a topic on which he has authored several articles and presented various seminars. He is also interested in the interface between psychology and theology.
Prior to teaching, Dr. Magnuson served as a pastor of student ministries for three years. He is passionate about connecting psychology to real life in ways that make a difference in students’ lives, including their relationships (with God, family, and self) and careers. When he’s not teaching, he enjoys sports, music, exercise and spending time with his wife Kirstin and their two energetic sons. If you’ve never seen an authentic cheesehead, you need to make a visit to Dr. Magnuson’s office.
