Psychology Internship

The PSYC 499 Internship is required by all students pursuing their B.S. in Psychology. The internship provides real experience, awareness of professional responsibilities and skills, and develops synthesis of human behavior patterns.
Requirements

2.0+ overall GPA

Senior status
-
18 credits of PSYC coursework successfully completed

Suitable internship site
-
Completed Student Internship Agreement (SIA)
Internship Sites
Liberty does not place students in internship sites. Finding a placement is the student's responsibility.

Local community service boards or mental health agencies often have information about opportunities.

Ask to volunteer or work instead of asking for an internship.

Visit the agency in person, with your resume and syllabus, to review the course objectives.

Liberty does not refer students to internship sites.

Student Internship Application
Deadline to apply for an online Fall 2013 Internship is Wednesday, July 10, 2013
Instructions for Submission

Print the Student internship Application (SIA)

Select a site and site supervisor and procure email acceptance.

Use the SIA form to gather the needed information to complete the online form.

Complete the the online form using your Liberty user name and password. (Upon approval you will receive a copy for your records and to use in the course.)

Enter your information and acceptance email into the Internship Portal - Deadline is July 10, 2013.
A confirmation of submission email will be sent along with instructions for taking the Psychology Evaluation Test (PET).
No late paperwork will be accepted. Students who miss the deadline must wait until the next available semester to apply. The SIA is the contract between the student, the internship site supervisor, and Liberty University.
