Dr. William Scott is an Associate Professor who teaches courses in Crisis Intervention, Group Dynamics, Psychology of Personality and Abnormal Psychology. He joined Liberty in 1994. Dr. Scott’s educational experience began when he received his BA from East Texas Baptist University in Religion. At the Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary he earned his Masters of Religious Education specializing in Psychology & Counseling. He continued to develop his knowledge when he earned his Doctor of Education in Psychology & Counseling at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. In his experience his has given seminar and conferences presentations on diverse topics relating to personal and spiritual growth, counseling and/or pastoral counseling, mood disorders, suicide, and DSM-IV psychopathologies. Dr. Scott is a certified Professional Counselor and holds several clinical memberships for both the American and Virginia Association of Marriage and Family Therapies. His other affiliations are the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education, the American Association of Christian Counselors, and being a charter member of the Association of Biblical Counselors.
