Band Parents' Day

We are excited to offer an excellent means of seeing the Liberty University Marching Band perform by participating in our Annual Band Parents’ Day.  Our twenty-sixth annual Band Parents’ Day is scheduled on Saturday, October 25, 2014, and I would like to take this opportunity to invite you to attend.  This is always one of the highlights of the marching season, and I am inviting all band members’ parents and their families to participate. Your day will be filled with activities that will give you an excellent idea of the varied schedule involved during our typical game days.  We will begin with a continental breakfast at 10:00 a.m., followed by our field rehearsal at 11:30 a.m.  Next, you will participate in our devotional period with Jonathan Falwell, pastor of Thomas Road Baptist Church.  Our time together will focus on the spiritual theme of the season.  Following lunch, we will attend the football game in Williams Stadium, where Liberty University will face Gardner-Webb University, and you will have reserved seating with the marching band.  Our day will conclude with a buffet dinner held on the Liberty University campus in the Schilling Center at 8:00 p.m.  Dr. Vernon Whaley, Dean of the School of Music, will be our keynote speaker.   --last year we had 450 persons in attendance--this is always a special time together with our band families! 

The cost for the entire day’s activities on Saturday is $26.00 for each adult, $15.00 for children ages 6-18, and free for children to age 5. Band members who reside on campus who are planning to attend the banquet will be charged $15.00.  We mailed registration letters and forms to all families on July 25 --these are due, post marked, by October 20.  If you do not receive this in the mail, please contact the band office to receive yours.

8:00 a.m.          Continental Breakfast and Band Parent Check-in, receive packet/tickets (Stadium - Flames Club Tent)

9:45 a.m.          Field Review Rehearsal in Williams Stadium

11:30 a.m.        Devotions in DeMoss Hall 1113

12:15 p.m.        Uniform Distribution (In Band Room)

12:30 p.m.        Lunch (On your own)

2:00 p.m.          Inspection (Performing Arts Hall)

2:10 p.m.          Depart from Band Building for tailgaters, etc.

2:55 p.m.          Warm-up Arc at Hancock, back patio

3:20 p.m.          Pregame Show (to press box side)

3:30 p.m.          Liberty University vs. Gardner-Webb

8:00 p.m.          Band Parents’ Banquet (New Schilling Center)
