Dr. Ruth Foley has been on the faculty of Liberty since 1992. While studying under the famed British tenor Jan van der Gucht at the Conservatory of Regina, Saskatchewan, Ruth won the provincial finals at the age of 18. Later in Winnipeg, Manitoba, she was twice finalist in the prestigious Rose Bowl vocal competitions.

Dr. Foley is a lyric coloratura soprano with a wealth of performing experience in opera, oratorio, and recital to her credit, and has also sung on national television. Her students are frequently honored at NATS conferences. Her most recent publication is an article on the songs of Gustave Charpentier in the May/June 2004 issue of the NATS Journal of Singing.

In addition to her studio teaching, Dr. Foley teaches Foundations of Vocal Technique, Vocal Pedagogy, and supervises student teachers.
