Sean Beavers is active as a guitar soloist, chamber musician, scholar, and teacher. He has performed in Europe as well as in North and South America, including performances on West Virginia Public Radio and Bolivian television. He has appeared as a guest artist at the Alexandria Guitar Festival near Washington, D.C. and the Asolo Song Festival in Italy.
Beavers currently serves on the Education Committee of the Guitar Foundation of America and the Editorial Committee for American String Teacher. His scholarly studies have resulted in lectures at the International Experiencing Villa-Lobos Conference, the American String Teachers Association National Convention, and the Guitar Foundation of America International Convention.
As a teacher, Beavers previously served on the faculty at Thomas University, the Baptist College of Florida, and Marshall University. In August 2007, he joined the faculty at Liberty University, where he serves as Assistant Professor of Music and teaches applied guitar, guitar ensemble, guitar pedagogy, music theory, and aural skills. As Instrumental Coordinator, he serves as the principal contact for prospective students seeking information about instrumental music study.
