Dr. Roberts is Associate Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences. Professor Roberts earned a M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of South Carolina. He serves on the board of the Abbeville Institute (a scholarly organization dedicated to studying the American South) and on the editorial board of Anamnesis: A Journal for the Study of Tradition, Place, and ‘Things Divine’ and the online blog, Nomocracy in Politics. His most recent work is a new scholarly edition of William Gilmore Simms’s Captain John Smith: The Founder of Virginia (South Carolina Press).
