The department offers a limited number of Graduate Student Assistantships. Assistantships involve assisting with the English 101 Composition and Rhetoric courses. A copy of the Graduate Student Assistant application and the Graduate Student Assistant contract are available in PDF format.

Students receiving a “full time” award must meet all the criteria set forth in the application and maintain a 3.0 average for all graduate work. The full time stipend for the 07-08 academic year includes a complete tuition waiver (up to nine credit hours per semester) and a $3,600 stipend per semester. The student must pay all fees related to their enrollment in the University.

The GSA stipend does not apply to courses beyond nine credit hours per semester. It also does not apply to courses taught in summer school.
