Marching Band Woodwinds and Brass
A placement audition is held on the first day of Band Camp in August. All persons will read a portion of the music out of the marching band folder. We will have this ready at band camp; music is not sent in advance. Don’t worry, we are as inclusive as possible, and work to place everyone who is interested in performing in this ensemble! Just let us know you plan to be in the band by contacting the director, Dr. Stephen Kerr, at spkerr@liberty.edu, and we will help you get ready! If you know how to play your instrument, we will teach you all you need to know in order to march with us. Even if you have come from a band program that does not march, we will teach you all you need to know to successfully march in the “Spirit of the Mountain!”

Marching Band Colorguard
Auditions are planned during College for a Weekend (CFAW), Saturday, March 24, 2012 at 9:00 a.m. Location: Band Room, Performing Arts 134. If you find you will be unable to attend, we can look into another means/date of auditioning. Please prepare a 2-3 minute audition with music accompaniment. Usually, auditionees perform a routine that they used in high school with their band music. You may also make up your own routine to any music selection you choose. In addition, auditionees at CFAW get to meet many other auditionees, learn a warm-up routine together at the 9:00 a.m. session, and get to know the staff a bit. Please contact Bryanna Tester, guard instructor, at brtester@liberty.edu, in order to be placed on the audition list!
