G1000 Navigation System ![]() |
|
The majority of aircraft used by the SOA are equipped with Garmin G1000 Navigation Systems. We feel it is necessary that our pilots receive a training that makes them familiar with the most up-to-date technologies as well as being proficient in the use of traditional steam gauges. Pilot performance in simulators during airline interviews have revealed that experience with G1000 systems makes the use of airline aircraft flight management systems much easier. This is just one of many benefits from using these systems in our Cessna 172 aircraft. |
Aeronautics majors will choose from four specializations:
The Liberty University Aviation Department is an FAA 141 approved flight school.
For those not enrolled in the Bachelor of Science program, flight training may, student load permitting, be taken in the Liberty University FAA Part 141 flight school which offers private pilot, instrument pilot, commercial pilot and certified flight instructor training.
