The scriptures that have brought me the most comfort are, Romans 8:28 "And we know that all things work together for those who love God and are called according to His purpose". As I read that scripture I tell myself that scripture is about me because I love God and I am called according to His purpose. Psalms 10:17, "You hear oh Lord the desires of the afflicted."

God is our help in times of hurting. King David says in Psalm 3:3 But You, O Lord, are a shield for me My glory and One who lifts up my head. Sometimes we may have enemies who will try to steal our peace. That's why in Eph. 6:16, Paul says, "above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one". I met depression for the first time and it is a paralysis of the brain and of the will. You know you need to do things but don't have the will to do them. You know God can help but you have no strength to ask. So I will (and I encourage anyone reading this post to do the same) put on that shield ahead of time. Through prayer, through being aware and through confiding on someone trusted. This way when the enemy comes with his tricks we can stand strong and overcome his attacks on our lives.

"Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends" (John 15:13) "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep" (John 10:10-11) "This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters" (1 John 3:16). If already God is willing to lay down His life so that you may have abundance in life, how much more He wants to restore you and heal your hurts! You are loved! Be strong and courageous and beware of the enemy's tactics! Not just in your own life, but also in the lives of those whom you cherish! Be strong and courageous!

Today I felt overwhelmed with my case load. But as I sat to study the word of God reminded me that Jesus says to come unto me all ye that labour and are heavy laden and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn of me Matt 11:28-29 My fellow students please know that God cares about every area of our lives and he will help us every step of the way. God bless
